Located in the Indian ocean off the Southeast coast of Africa, Madagascar is considered the fourth largest largest island in the world (its area 592000 km2).

The island is separated from the mainland by wide Mozambique channel. Madagascar – this is a fragment of the ancient African platform composed of hard metamorphic and crystalline rocks: granite, schist, gneiss, separated by about 165 million years ago from the African continent. Some time a new island was drifting to the East, taking with them a large variety of animal and plant species.

The island nation of Madagascar is a very specific and exotic country in the world. She is one of the poorest in economic terms and one of the richest region of bio diversity. Of the 200,000 species of animals and plants of Madagascar, a 150 000 are found nowhere else in the world (approximately 5 percent of the total species diversity of flora and fauna of our planet). In Madagascar at least 13000 species of plants, of which 80 percent are endemic and 3 500 have medicinal properties. The miracle of Russia — lake Turgoyak is located in the southern Urals in Chelyabinsk region. Let me take you on an amazing voyage in a rich land with beautiful scenery.

There is a beautiful legend about how there was a unique lake. Once, long ago in the Urals was traveling a young man by the name of the Tour. He wandered between the mountain ranges and met a girl named Gojak. She was just as beautiful as it is sad. The youth learned from the story of the girl that the evil witch has lost her sight and heal her only the purest water in the world.

Then the young man went on a long journey on lake Baikal and in his hands brought healing waters. The girl was washed and received my sight, and those drops that fell to the ground turned into a beautiful lake, which he named Turgoyak. So says the ancient Bashkir legend.

South Ural — one of the richest regions of Russia. In the interior contain great quantities of gold, platinum, copper, minerals and gems. But the main wealth of this region are the numerous lakes. Often this region is called «Ural Switzerland».

This unique lake is located in the Sovetsky district of Altai region. It is well-known for having one of two in Russia wintering ground for whooper Swan.

The area of Swan lake is 26.6 ha, length about 1 km, width – just over 400 m, the average depth of the lake is 70cm and the maximum – does not exceed 2 m. the lake Bottom is sandy / pebbly, the water is very clean and clear. Water reservoir fill the springs that burst out of the earth on the banks and in the center of the lake. In summer the water temperature does not exceed +15, and winter does not fall below +5-6 degrees, so the lake does not freeze. This was the reason for the wintering swans. Winter here every year about 350 of these beautiful birds. Swans fly here in November and live till March or April, and then again going North. In addition to the swans on the lake lives a huge number of wild ducks, marked by the nesting of the peregrine Falcon, the Saker Falcon, Sandpiper.

In winter, Swan lake is a truly unforgettable sight – the trees covered with frost, snow drifts, fog over the water and white birds, dissecting the water surface.
