A holiday in Madagascar

Located in the Indian ocean off the Southeast coast of Africa, Madagascar is considered the fourth largest largest island in the world (its area 592000 km2).

The island is separated from the mainland by wide Mozambique channel. Madagascar – this is a fragment of the ancient African platform composed of hard metamorphic and crystalline rocks: granite, schist, gneiss, separated by about 165 million years ago from the African continent. Some time a new island was drifting to the East, taking with them a large variety of animal and plant species.

The island nation of Madagascar is a very specific and exotic country in the world. She is one of the poorest in economic terms and one of the richest region of bio diversity. Of the 200,000 species of animals and plants of Madagascar, a 150 000 are found nowhere else in the world (approximately 5 percent of the total species diversity of flora and fauna of our planet). In Madagascar at least 13000 species of plants, of which 80 percent are endemic and 3 500 have medicinal properties. The Caspian sea

The size of the water area is actually more a sea, and quite large (371 000 km2), although the Caspian sea is a closed salt lake, the largest on the planet. The Caspian coast with its sandy beaches, mineral springs, curative mud has good conditions for rest and treatment. However, because of the complexities in interstate relations of Caspian States – Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan tourism infrastructure in the Caspian sea is poorly developed.

The Aral sea

Former salt lake on the border of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. As a former call it, because since the early 1960s, the lake started to become shallow catastrophically due to increased freshwater withdrawals for development of cotton from flowing into major rivers – the Syr-Darya and Amu-Darya. Currently, the Aral sea separated into two isolated lakes – the Northern Aral and the southern Aral.
